Fabric Care Guide

At Getup LifeStyle, we believe premium clothing deserves premium care. Proper fabric care helps maintain the softness, color, shape, stitching, and overall appearance of your favorite garments for longer.

Follow these simple care instructions to keep your Getup LifeStyle clothing looking fresh, comfortable, and stylish wear after wear.

1. Wash with Care

Always check the garment’s care label before washing. For best results, wash your Getup LifeStyle garments gently by hand or using a gentle machine-wash cycle.

Turn the garment inside out before washing to help protect the outer surface, colors, prints, and finishing details.

2. Use Cold or Lukewarm Water

We recommend washing garments in cold or lukewarm water. Excessively hot water can affect fabric fibers, colors, and garment shape over time.

Avoid prolonged soaking, especially for colored garments.

3. Choose a Mild Detergent

Use a quality mild detergent suitable for colored clothing. Avoid strong bleach, harsh chemicals, or aggressive stain removers unless specifically recommended for the fabric.

Bleach can weaken fibers and may cause unwanted fading or discoloration.

4. Wash Similar Colors Together

To help preserve the original color of your garments, separate dark, light, and bright-colored clothing before washing.

Avoid washing new dark-colored garments with light-colored clothes until you are confident there is no color transfer.

5. Avoid Excessive Scrubbing

For hand washing, gently clean the garment rather than aggressively rubbing the fabric.

If there is a stain, treat it carefully according to the fabric-care label. Excessive rubbing can affect the surface texture and appearance of the garment.

6. Protect Prints and Embroidery

If your garment features prints, embroidery, logos, or other decorative details, turn it inside out before washing and ironing.

Avoid applying direct high heat to printed or embroidered areas, as excessive heat may damage the finish.

7. Dry Naturally

Whenever possible, air dry your garments naturally in a clean, well-ventilated area.

Avoid excessive exposure to strong, direct sunlight for long periods, particularly with dark or vibrant colors, as this may contribute to fading.

8. Avoid High-Heat Drying

High temperatures from tumble dryers can cause certain fabrics to shrink, lose shape, or become damaged over repeated cycles.

If tumble drying is permitted on the care label, use a low-heat or gentle setting.

9. Iron at the Right Temperature

Use a low to medium heat setting appropriate for the fabric.

For printed garments, turn the clothing inside out and avoid placing the hot iron directly over the print, logo, or decorative elements.

10. Store Your Garments Properly

Store clean and completely dry garments in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place.

Polo shirts and similar garments can be folded neatly to help maintain their shape. Use suitable hangers for garments that are best stored hanging.

11. Keep Your Clothes Fresh

Do not leave worn or damp garments inside a closed bag or laundry basket for an extended period. Allow them to dry and breathe before placing them in storage.

Proper ventilation helps maintain freshness and protects the fabric from unwanted odors.

12. Follow the Care Label

Different fabrics require different levels of care. Always follow the specific washing, drying, ironing, and care instructions printed on the garment label.

When in doubt, choose the gentler care option.
